In rural South Leicestershire a little brook at the bottom of our fields meanders its way through unspoilt woodlands and meadows.
It is flanked by ancient Alder trees that have grown bent and twisted over their lifetime and formed little islands of greenery, like stepping stones from its banks.
From a small beginning near the remains of an 11th century castle, the little brook continued on it’s journey along the valley, passing remains of Iron Age settlements, still in evidence today under rough pastures, and medieval churches that have been the heart of rural communities for centuries.
Today our flock of sheep are registered as ‘Parvabrook’, from part of the village name Parva, meaning little, we have “Little Brook” sheep, rooted in the history of that little brook that still flows through the meadows.
